In this course students will gain the knowledge needed to understand how to generate a working mechanical and transponder keys to a vehicle. The student will learn several different ways of generating a key this will include key cutting as well. OBD Key Programming and Key Cloning will be described in depth. At the end of this course every student will have a firm understanding of Automotive Key Generation, Key Programming, and Key Cloning.

The Soldering Portion: Class Goal: Upon completion of this class each student will have gained 4 hours of actual hands- on practice desoldering, fluxing, cleaning, and resoldering devices as they pertain to automotive security system work. This course will provide an introduction to, practice with and real world application of identifying, soldering, and desoldering components within automotive electronic security systems. There will be a brief introduction to acquiring automotive data directly from storage devices within the automotive security systems. All the necessary equipment to locate, remove and reapply data storage devices in automotive security modules will be supplied for use within the course. This class is focused on the physical side of EEPROM work as it pertains to the removal of devices from the security circuits. A brief explanation of acquiring their data and a lengthy explanation of returning the devices without damage to the modules or devices will be provided.
The EEPROM Portion: Objective: This course will provide an introduction to identifying data storage devices and the use of real world equipment to acquire, read, modify, and reprogram these devices with the goal of producing transponders to start vehicles economically. The class we will begin with simple in circuit examples of reading EEPROMs. It will then move on to removing EEPROMs from the circuit, reading them with multiple pieces of equipment and then modifying the data. The latest available equipment will be used to produce a transponder that will ultimately be able to start vehicles including water recreational vehicles and motorcycles. With the manufacturers increasing security and the increase in diagnostic equipment costs and fees to use said equipment, EEPROM work may be the last hope to produce.

Friday 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM - Networx & Gateway Connectivity and DL Software Overview - Andy Phelps - Alarm Lock (Oak Room 2) - $49
This class is hands on and will cover all aspects of DL Windows Software programming, including setting up a system with users, time zones, schedules, running an audit trail for the Networx products. We will send/receive programming using our Laptops to Networx products. We will demonstrate the Networx - Global Emergency Commands to issue a “Lockdown” all locks within the system from the PC and/or from any lock within the system as if there was an emergency situation. The Global Emergency Commands can also be used to “Unlock” all locks within the system from the PC or any lock within the system. Attendee Requirements Note: Highly suggested that students bring their laptops to class, we will load software and you will follow along for step by step programming instructions. The student’s laptops MUST be fully updated with all current Microsoft Windows OS and security updates prior to coming to the class.

This class is designed for the beginner or experienced technician and will cover the proper installation technique for the cylindrical, narrow stile and exit trim along with some tips/tricks for an easier installation. Also covered will be how to repair the Alarm Lock Trilogy mortise, exit trim and cylindrical locks. We will discuss what parts are replaceable and how to correctly remove and replace those parts. The instructor will also share some tips on how to make the repair process easier.

In this class, we will be teaching basics of Mercedes IR key programming. Including, terminology, key types, body types and password calculations and finally a quick demonstration on an EIS module. Online password calculations using the VVDI MB and EEPROM capabilities using the VVDI Prog. At the end of this class you will have a basic understanding and ability to program Mercedes Benz IR Keys.
Saturday 1:30 PM - 5:00 PM - Automotive Lock Pinning - Jeff Baker - Strattec (Oak Room 2) - $49
This class will bring you up to date on vehicle platforms that STRATTEC services including GM and Ford. There will be hands on pinning of select GM and Ford side mill ignitions and door locks. Technology changes regarding locks and keys will be covered including current trends and future applications. You will also be updated specifically on what is serviced by STRATTEC for the 2018 model year vehicles. STRATTEC online resources will also be covered.
Saturday 1:30 PM - 5:00 PM - LISHI Picks - A hands-on overview - JB Gates (Oak Room 3) - $149
This course will cover Lishi Tools in depth. The students will gain an understanding of the practical use of these tools. 2-In-1, 3-In-1, and Direct Reader Tools will be discussed. The students will be instructed and demonstrate the actual use of these tools with Standard Security and High Security Automotive Locks. Each student will be given ample time with each lock style in order to become very comfortable with picking and decoding these locks.
